In 2019, 9 adults with intellectual disabilities were employed as cook assistants in Social Kitchen N.E.O. Speranță și Sănătate. They cook under the supervision of the Chef and deliver hot meals to 20 lonely old people in the Buiucani sector. Also, the Social Kitchen provides meals to the beneficiaries of the day center – about 20-30 people daily.

This program brings mutual benefit to two categories of socially vulnerable people – not only adequate nutrition and occupational therapy, but also the communication that both categories need … Tears in the eyes of elderly lonely old people and words of gratitude prove this. Sometimes they ask to help with the housework, for example, to take out and knock out carpets, take out the garbage …

The participants of the project, who were previously often looked at with caution on the street, feel themselves useful to society and to their families. After all, they get paid for their work.
